Sbpg Ransomware
Very often we can find a new member of the numerous ransomware families of ransomware tormenting computer users and trying to extort money from them. The files encrypted by the Sbpg Ransomware will have their names changed due to the addition of the file extension '.sbpg' at the end of their names. Therefore, a file named "summary.jpg" would be named "summary.jpg.sbpg" after the Sbpg Ransomware has modified it. Then, the Sbpg Ransomware will generate a ransom note in a text file named "_readme.txt."
The ransom note contains very specific instructions to the victims that wish to restore access to their data by paying the ransom. It also offers to decrypt one filer for free as a way to prove that the cybercriminals have a working decryption software. The ransom amount that victims of the Sbpg Ransomware need to pay is $490 if they contact the handlers of the Sbpg Ransomware within 72 hours after being infected. However, the amount after the 72 hours will double, and the victims will need to pay $980 in case they want their data back. The email addresses provided to contact the hackers are helprestoremanager@airmail.cc and manager@mailtemp.ch.
The ransom note presented by the Sbpg Ransomware reads:
