Savideo.ru may appear as a simple website but that too is a deception, just like the messages it displays to its visitors. The only goal of the page is to perform a popular browser-based tactic that has been propagated by countless other hoax pages. Typically, visitors will be presented with one of several misleading and clickbait messages. No matter what the exact text is, the messages will always try to convince the users into clicking the 'Allow' button.
Of course, they do not explain the actual consequences of doing so. Instead, websites such as Savideo.ru will pretend that it is a part of a CAPTCHA check for bots, or clicking the button will grant access to a video, and even a file that will now be available for download. Some examples of these manipulative messages include:
'Click 'Allow' to verify you are not a robot'
'Click 'Allow' to watch the video.'
'Click 'Allow' to download the file'
If the site is successful in its deception, it will receive broad browser permissions, as the unsuspecting users will be subscribing to its push notification services. Afterward, Savideo.ru will begin to run an annoying and intrusive ad campaign that will deliver various untrustworthy advertising materials via the affected browser. Users should avoid engaging with the generated advertisements. It is not uncommon for the advertisements to promote dubious applications including adware, browser hijackers, or other PUPs, lead to additional con websites, or even phishing pages attempting to siphon all entered information.
