Save-window.com is a deceptive website that utilizes misleading and outright fake alerts and warnings to achieve its goals. Users are unlikely to open the page on their own, and will commonly encounter it as a result of unwanted redirects. The source of the redirects can be either visiting websites with rogue advertising networks or having a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) present on your computer system or device.
Some hoax websites can change their behavior based on factors, such as the IP address and geolocation of each user. Save-window.com has been observed by cybersecurity experts to run a version of the scam associated with the display of messages similar to 'You've visited illegal infected website.' Indeed, the page tries to convince its visitors that their computers have been infiltrated by a non-existent threat.
According to the shady page, the source of the threat is a previously visited unsafe website. Save-window.com will then urge the user to perform a scan for malware threats by clicking the conveniently provided button. Websites are not capable of performing system scans or detecting threats on users' devices and any that claim to be able to do so should be regarded as schemes.
In an attempt to make its deceptive alerts appear more legitimate, Save-window.com will pretend as if the warnings are coming from the established McAfee security vendor. Users should keep in mind that legitimate companies do not associate themselves with such dubious websites and, naturally, McAfee is in no way connected to the Save-window.com website.
