Sandgerl.com is an untrustworthy website that is mainly targeted at Apple users. The page and the pop-ups it generates contain fake and misleading alerts and supposed security warnings. This is a common behavior for dubious pages that rely on scare tactics to convince users into downloading and installing a promoted application. To make its claims appear more legitimate, the Sandgerl.com website presents them as if they are actual Apple system notifications.
The pop-ups associated with the page try to convince users that they have numerous important notifications regarding their iOS devices. In the meantime, the main page of this tactic will try to create a sense of urgency with scary-sounding claims, such as hackers being able to watch the users via their devices. Additional fake statements may include that the device's Internet connection has been hacked or compromised. To put further pressure on the unsuspecting users, the hoax page warns that in 2 minutes the hackers will reveal the identity of the victims and release the browsing history and photos found on the device.
Of course, none of the claims made by Sandgerl.com are true. Users should remain calm and simply close the page without following any of its instructions. Keep in mind that such hoax websites are often used as tools for the distribution of intrusive adware, browser hijackers and other PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs).
