Safetyfirst.cfd is a hoax website that is most likely being promoted through shady advertising networks. Users who land on the page will encounter a version of the 'Your computer is infected with viruses' tactic. It involves displaying numerous pop-ups and warnings designed to appear as if they are coming from a legitimate source.
In this case, Safetyfirst.cfd uses the design and theme of the legitimate cybersecurity vendor McAfee. It pretends to be doing a malware scan of the user's system or device, despite that no website can perform such a scan on its own. Of course, the results always show that numerous malware threats have been discovered and users are urged to resolve this non-existent problem by buying a promoted product immediately.
These tactics are often used to spread intrusive PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Even when the promoted program is a reputable one, Safetyfirst.cfd directs users towards buying a subscription for the McAfee security application, they do so with the intention of earning illegitimate commission fees from each sale. Users should keep in mind that the authentic company and developer of the application are in no way connected to this dubious site.
