Despite its name, doesn't try to help users boost the protection of their PC systems. Instead, this is a deceptive page, capable of running various online tactics. It should be noted that users are unlikely to open the site willingly. Chances are that they were taken there via forced redirects caused by rogue advertising networks or intrusive PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) present on their devices. could show fake security alerts and warnings claiming the user's device has been infected with 5 viruses. To support its false statements, the site will pretend to conduct a scan for security threats, a functionality that no website possesses on its own. Furthermore, the page is likely to exploit the logo, brand, and interface design of a reputable security vendor, such as McAfee or Norton in an attempt to appear more legitimate. Of course, that doesn't make its baseless claims any more real. Alternatively, the page could try to convince users to install a promoted browser extension.

In the first case, the fraudsters are likely to try and collect illegitimate commission fees based on the transactions completed via the site. In the second tactic, users could be presented with intrusive PUPs, disguised as seemingly useful browser extensions. Once activated, the PUPs could initiate their adware, browser hijacker or data harvesting capabilities.
