Safemacpc.xyz is a dubious website that should be approached with caution. Indeed, the page appears to exist for the sole purpose of conducting various online tactics. Not to mention that users are unlikely to willingly open this website and those that encountered it were probably taken there via forced redirects.
When cybersecurity researchers analyzed the Safemacpc.xyz, they discovered the site running a variant of the 'Your PC is infected with 5 viruses!' tactic. The page displayed various misleading and outright fake claims presented as if coming from the legitimate security vendor McAfee. One of the pop-up windows generated by this tactic could even pretend to be scanning the user's device for threats. Such functionality is not something that any website can do on its own, and it shouldn't come as a surprise that this fake scan always finds harmful malware threats on the device.
The fake scares shown by Safemacpc.xyz also may include a window designed to appear as a Windows security alert. It is equally as fake as the other messages shown by the website. The apparent goal of the fraudsters is to convince users to download and install a promoted application.
It is important to remember that no matter how serious or alarming the displayed message may appear to be, you should never install apps from such dubious or unproven sources. Even when the promoted product is a legitimate one, the scammers are likely trying to earn money via illegitimate commission fees.
