RefogLogger

RefogLogger is a keylogger developed and distributed by Refog. RefogLogger and all other keylogger apps can be detected by many security solutions as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) because such applications can be used to spy on a person or steal information. At the same time, some may argue that those same programs can be useful in certain situations. For example, a parent could monitor the online behavior of their children.

However, if a user suspects there is a keylogger installed on their machine without their knowledge and consent, clearly there is a problem. Keyloggers can record everything written on a particular machine and in some cases allow for remote viewing of the records. This may include passwords or other sensitive information and this is a plenty good reason to designate keyloggers as potentially unwanted.
