Ransom:Win32/Teerac is a ransomware Trojan that when installed and running on the computer will encrypt files and display a Web page that prompts the computer user to pay a ransom to unlock them. Ransom:Win32/Teerac may be installed on your machine as an e-mail attachment or by another threat such as TrojanDownloader:O97M/Donoff. Ransom:Win32/Teerac will accuse the computer user of executing some illicit activities on the infected computer such as visiting pornographic websites, etc. Ransom:Win32/Teerac will turn your computer inaccessible until you pay the asked ransom. Computer users should be aware that paying the asked fee will not make a difference. Therefore, computer users should ignore Ransom:Win32/Teerac messages and get the help of an appropriate and up-to-date anti-malware product to scan their machines to detect and remove Ransom:Win32/Teerac.
