EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.

The Quick Site is a browser extension that exhibits all of the typical characteristics of a browser hijacker. It takes over and modifies several important browser settings to promote a sponsored site. Affected users will notice their browsers starting to redirect to unfamiliar websites as a result of having Quick Site installed.
To be more precise, the extension will change the current homepage, new tab page and default search engine settings. All three will be set to now open quicknewtab.com, a fake search engine. Redirects to the page will happen whenever the users launch the browser, start a new tab in it, or try to initiate a search directly from the URL tab. However, fake search engines do not produce results on their own; after all, they do not possess such functionality. Instead, they take the user's search query and run it through other engines.
Quicknewtab.com has been observed to cause a redirect chain. First, it will pass through dubious websites, such as my-search.com and trafficjunction.com before taking the search results generated by Bing, Google or other engines. Users should keep in mind that the behavior of the Quick Site and the fake engine it promotes could vary, depending on factors such as the system's IP address and geolocation.
It also is important to remember that most browser hijackers and other applications classified as PUPs carry data-harvesting routines. While present on the system, these invasive applications could try to extract browsing-related information, device details, or even sensitive payment or banking details taken from the browser's autofill data.
