is a browser-based tactic created to promote dubious links or potentially corrupted files on the Internet. The first step of this fraudulent tactic is to attract users to its website, usually through unsolicited redirects by other related pages or a browser hijacker installed on the user's device.
Once you open, you see a bogus CAPTCHA-test message that requires the confirmation that you are not a robot:

' wants to Show notifications
Click Allow to confirm that you are not a robot!'

However, clicking on the embedded 'Allow' button does nothing but subscribe you to browser notifications from this corrupted website. The advertisements and banners displayed on a subscriber's screen subsequently have absolutely no benefit. Instead, they only expose users to the risk of having their devices infected with severe malware threats by redirecting users to potentially unsafe websites. Besides, the amount of sponsored content may be sufficient to diminish the affected computer's performance and the overall browsing experience.

Note that an adware threat also can generate the pop-ups. Therefore, malware researchers advise affected users to scan their computers with a reliable anti-virus program.
