ProProtect

ProProtect or Pro Protect is a criminal application created to cheat unsuspecting users out of their money. This rogueware can be downloaded from malicious websites by unsuspecting users or Trojans can secretly install it on a system. Pro Protect may come with other malware such as a rootkit which will make its detection more difficult. Once Pro Protect has been executed on a system, it will run and deliver a fake scan report which will detect legitimate system files as malware that need to be removed. Users that attempt to manually remove these files may cause their systems to crash. Following the fake scan report and security alerts, Pro Protect will advise a user to purchase its full version to remove the detected malware. This is an old scam that users should avoid falling for. Do not trust anything presented by Pro Protect and have this rogue removed from your PC the moment you encounter it or its fake security notifications.
