EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecard
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are assessment reports for different malware threats which have been collected and analyzed by our research team. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards evaluate and rank threats using several metrics including real-world and potential risk factors, trends, frequency, prevalence, and persistence. EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:
Ranking: The ranking of a particular threat in EnigmaSoft’s Threat Database.
Severity Level: The determined severity level of an object, represented numerically, based on our risk modeling process and research, as explained in our Threat Assessment Criteria.
Infected Computers: The number of confirmed and suspected cases of a particular threat detected on infected computers as reported by SpyHunter.

Many computer users have encountered pop-up windows and banners bearing the message 'Ads by Passwidget'. This is a low quality advertising platform that is used to generate revenue at the expense of computer users. Passwidget is an adware infection that may cause numerous problems on affected Web browsers. Passwidget may do much more than simply display advertisements on the affected Web browser. When Passwidget enters a computer, Passwidget will try to redirect you to various Web pages and try to catch your attention by pestering you with a large amount of pop-up messages. It is important to note that Passwidget advertisements may be more than a simple annoyance; they may expose your computer to other forms of threats. If Passwidget advertisements are appearing on your Web browser, this typically indicates the presence of a PUP, or Potentially Unwanted Program on your computer. PUPs associated with Passwidget should be removed immediately with the help of a strong, reliable anti-malware application in order to stop Passwidget advertisements and browser redirects.

A Careful Installation of New Program Can Avoid Further Problems
Usually, adware like Passwidget may be distributed when computer users download and install freeware or shareware. It is important to note that even legitimate software distribution websites may distribute known PUPs, which may be bundled with low quality applications. Marketers may bundle Passwidget with legitimate free programs and distribute them using their own custom installers. Because of this, computer users should use custom installation to monitor the installation of any new program. This allows computer users to ensure that no unwanted components are being installed along with the free program.
How to Remove Passwidget from an Affected Computer
Passwidget can be uninstalled in the same way as a normal application would be uninstalled. However, components associated with Passwidget may remain. Because of this, a fully updated security program should be used to scan the affected computer entirely. Since Passwidget may make unwanted changes to the affected Web browser's settings, it may be necessary to undo these changes manually.
