Paas Ransomware

The Paas Ransomware is a new threat belonging to the STOP/Djvu Ransomware family. Despite being a simple variant of the infamous STOP/Djvu Ransomware with no notable improvements or modifications, the Paas Ransowmare shouldn't be underestimated, as it can still cause severe damage to any computer it manages to infect. The Paas Ransomware will initiate an encryption process employing an uncrackable cryptographic algorithm. Affected files will be rendered both inaccessible and unusable. Each one will have '.paas' attached to their original filenames as a new extension. The Paas Ransomware victims will be left with a ransom note contained inside a text file named '_readme.txt.'

According to the instructions, affected users who wish to restore their files need to pay the sum of $980 to receive the decryption key and tool from the hackers. If contact is initiated within the first 72 hours, the cybercriminals promise to slash the amount of the ransom in half to $490. They also offer to decrypt a single locked file for free. The ransom note mentions two email addresses that can be used for communication - the primary address is 'helpteam@mail.ch' while 'helpmanager@airmail.cc' acts as a reserve email.
