OSX.Musminim
OSX.Musminim is a computer trojan horse which normally creates a back channel on the victim's computer, if infected. OSX.Musminim then will be used as a platform to spread malware or virus.
MusMinim is also a dynamic type of malware that could put an infected computer at the mercy of a remote hacker.
A BlackHole malware variant for OS X has been discovered to evolve into scandalous prank sending malicious instructions to the infected system. This new variant of MusMinim will place text files on the desktop in addition to sending restart and shutdown commands. Usually this variant of MusMinim is followed by a deceptive pop-up window showing 'administrator password' pushing users into entering their login credentials. In obtaining login information, remote hackers are able to utilize MusMinim to gain access to the infected computer to launch attacks across the internet or spread spam or phishing emails.
It is evident that MusMinim is an extremely dangerous parasite that must be addressed in a prompt manor. Although MusMinim mainly targets Mac OS X systems, it can be said that a trusted spyware detect tool must be used at all times.
It's relatively easy to remove OSX.Musminim, but it's still somewhat dangerous if it is not taken care of appropriately. Remove it as soon as possible.
