OnClick is an adware that may cause problems on affected computers. The OnClick adware may be delivered as a Web browser toolbar, extension, plug-in or add-on. OnClick may attach to the most popular Windows-based Web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. However, the OnClick adware may cause problems and is categorized as an adware with spyware and browser hijacker capabilities because of the many symptoms to which OnClick may be linked. OnClick may alter the affected Web browser's default website (such as the homepage and default search engine) to Onclickads.net or other websites linked to OnClick. The OnClick adware also may keep track of the computer users' online activities, and deliver this data to a third-party that may not have the computer users' best interests at heart. Because of this, security researchers suggest a rapid removal of OnClick from an affected Web browser.
Computer users may not notice that OnClick is installed while downloading a free program from an unknown source. This tactic that consists of bundling software such as OnClick with free programs is a common delivery method for adware and PUPs. Computer users can prevent these unwanted programs from being installed by paying attention to the installation process so that they can opt out of any unwanted software. Choosing the 'Custom' installation computer users can determine which components they want to be installed. Regretfully, this tactic is a common way of monetizing free software at the expense of computer users. Security analysts strongly advise you to uninstall OnClick as soon as possible by using a reputable anti-malware program.
