OGDO Ransomware
The OGDO Ransomware is not a wholly unique ransomware threat, as, according to infosec experts, it can be categorized as part of the STOP/Djvu Ransomware family. What sets the OGDO Ransomware apart from other members of the STOP/Djvu Ransomware family is the encryption extension and hackers' emails.
Users would normally notice that something is wrong when their files can no longer be accessed suddenly and an unfamiliar extension - '.ogdo,' has been appended to the original names of the files. Instructions from the hackers behind the OGDO Ransomware can be found in text files named '_readme.txt' placed in every folder with compromised data.
According to the ransom note, the 'strongest encryption' was used to lock the files. In exchange for the decryption tool, the cybercriminals demand the hefty sum of $980 to be paid. If the user initiates contact with the hackers in the first 72 hours of the infection, the price will be cut down to $490. Two emails are provided - a primary one at helpmanager@mail.ch and a reserve address at restoremanager@airmail.cc. A signal file can be attached to the email to be decrypted for free.
