The name Notificationdailynews.com implies that the goal of the page is to deliver timely news updates to users who subscribe to its push notifications. Unfortunately, this couldn't be further from the truth. Indeed, when cybersecurity experts analyzed the page, they discovered that its sole purpose is to run misleading online tactics. More specifically, the site relies on deceptive social-engineering tactics to trick users into unknowingly enabling its push notifications.
Rogue websites such as this one may be able to scan the incoming IP addresses and use the information to determine the visitor's geolocation. Based on the data, the dubious page may change its behavior or switch to a different deceiving scenario. One of the potential options involves Notificationdailynews.com pretending to be doing a CAPTCHA check. Users will be presented with an image containing a robot accompanied by a message similar to:
'Type Allow to verify that you are not robot.'
The implication is that if users pass this supposed check, they will gain access to the content of the page. Instead, they would be subscribed to its push notifications and, as a result, begin receiving unwanted and annoying advertisements. Ads generated by rogue websites or delivered by PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) are highly likely to be promoting various questionable destinations. Indeed, users could see advertisements for hoax websites, fake giveaways, phishing portals, shady adult-oriented platforms and more. It is important to avoid interacting with the advertisements, as doing so could trigger forced redirects to more untrustworthy websites.
