Threat Database Ransomware Mljx Ransomware

Mljx Ransomware

The primary purpose of ransomware is to encrypt files, making them inaccessible to the user. The Mljx Ransomware, an encrypting malware threat from the Djvu Ransomware family, modifies the names of all encrypted files, appending the ".mljx" extension; for instance, a file normally named "sample.jpg" would be called "sample.jpg.mljx" after the ransomware threat has locked it. After the encryption, the Mljx Ransomware creates a ransom note within a text file named "_readme.txt."

The attackers state in the ransom note that victims need the right decryption software and key if they wish to restore access to their data. They also claim to be the only ones who can provide victims with the necessary decryption tool. Victims of the Mljx Ransomware have 72 hours to pay $490 ransom and get a decryption tool, whereby the requested amount jumps to $980 once the 72 hours have passed. Either way, victims will get more information about the payment by contacting the following email addresses: manager@mailtemp.ch or helprestoremanager@airmail.cc.

On the other hand, preventing ransomware infections can be straightforward – use only reliable sources for downloading programs or files, and do not open attachments or links in suspicious emails. Additionally, users should always update all used tools and programs through their official developers.
