Users who are experiencing frequent redirects to the unfamiliar Web address 'Micmitosas.top' or are seeing numerous, unwanted advertisements again related to this site, may have intrusive adware or browser hijackers lurking on their computers or smart devices. These annoying programs are very rarely distributed through normal channels and methods. Instead, they typically try to avoid attracting users' attention by relying on questionable tactics, such as software bundles or fake installers/updates. This particular behavior classifies the applications as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), as well.
When activated on the user's device, adware applications will be responsible for delivering various advertisements that could be promoting untrustworthy and shady destinations. Users may see advertisements for con websites, fake giveaways, dubious betting/gaming platforms, etc. The advertisements also may promote additional PUPs by presenting them as legitimate software products. On the other hand, browser hijackers are designed to take control of users' Web browsers and modify several important settings. By changing the homepage, new tab page, and the default search engine, the browser hijacker aims to promote a sponsored address and generate artificial traffic towards it.
Keeping a PUP active on your computer or device could lead to additional risks, as well. These applications are notorious for monitoring the users' browsing activities, while also extracting sensitive details from the device. Some are even capable of accessing browsers' autofill data and obtaining account credentials, payment information, credit/debit card numbers and other highly confidential data.
