EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards are updated regularly based on our research data and metrics and are useful for a wide range of computer users, from end users seeking solutions to remove malware from their systems to security experts analyzing threats.
EnigmaSoft Threat Scorecards display a variety of useful information, including:

The MapsNT Extension is promoted to change your new tab page and deliver navigation services. The MapsNT Extension can be downloaded and installed for free. The MapsNT Extension is known to support Google Chrome and earlier versions of Mozilla Firefox. The MapsNT program is developed by a company called Polarity Technologies Ltd. that we have been tracking throughout 2017 and the start of 2018. Polarity is in the same business as Mindspark Interactive Network Inc. — monetizing search results and Internet usage data collected from PC users. The MapsNT Extension can be found on the Chrome Web Store — Chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mapsnt/ioakmmefpjckfjkpmmcenmlilacmlbdd and ht[t]p://mapsnt[.]com/MNT?. The MapsNT extension can be added to Chrome after you provide it with the following rights:
- Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.
- Replace the page you see when opening a new tab.
- Read and change your browsing history.
- Manage your apps, extensions and themes.
The MapsNT Extension is programmed to change your new tab to h[tt]p://home.mapsnt[.]com/?siga=&sigs=&siguc=20180124 and we have received reports that it may use h[tt]p://search.mapsnt[.]com, h[tt]p://home.mapsnt[.]com and http://query.mapsnt[.]com too. The MapsNT New Tab is almost identical to the new tab replacements provided by Directions Express (Search.searchdirex.com), Go Maps (Search.hgomaps.co) and Directions Mapper (Search.searchdirma.com). It may be useful to know that the new tab page replacements mentioned before are published by Polarity Technologies Ltd. and can be found on the Chrome Web Store along with MapsNT. Computer security analysts classify the MapsNT Extension as a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that appears to be a renamed and slightly altered copy of products released by Polarity in the past.
The MapsNT New Tab includes links to wego.here.com, gasbuddy.com, geico.com, Google Maps and Bing Maps. The MapsNT Extension performs browser redirects to third parties, and it is not a standalone navigation service. Searches you make from the MapsNT New Tab trigger a redirect to h[tt]ps://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?hspart=adk&hsimp=yhs-adk_sbyhp&p=[keywords]. You might want to read the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy published by Polarity Technologies Ltd. on Legal.mapsnt.com/home/privacy? and Legal.mapsnt.com/home/terms?. AV companies might tag the files and browser settings associated with the MapsNT Extension as Adware-Sail, PUP/Multitoolbar, W32.HfsAdware.886D, NSIS.Application.InstallCore.HS, AdKnowledge (fs) and Heur.AdvML.B. Additionally, there are many clones of MapsNT that came up during our investigation, and you may want to exercise caution when you are invited to install the following Polarity products:
