ManagerDisplay

ManagerDisplay is an adware program developed to deliver advertisements, promote a fake search engine and collect valuable user information. Such software is undesired by users so that they would not download and install it deliberately. Therefore, applications like ManagerDisplay get distributed via questionable and deceptive methods, without the user’s notice or consent.

The annoying advertisements displayed by ManagerDisplay may open various tactics, lead the user to phishing websites that collect personal data, launch download pages for shady software and many other potentially unsafe activities. Even more, those advertisements can be designed to download unwanted applications by running specific scripts.

This application also functions as a browser hijacker. It modifies the settings of Web browsers, like the default search engine, homepage, and new tab URL, replacing all three with the address of a fake search engine. Results generated by such fake search machines could be misleading and lead to possibly unsafe places on the Web.

ManagerDisplay should not be allowed to stay on a device since it also can read personal user details from websites such as usernames, passwords, phone numbers, credit card details and other financial data. The user’s privacy also may be at risk as the application also may collect the browsing history and Web searches.
