Mal/EncPk-ACE, otherwise known as DarkSeoul, is a malware infection used in a damaging web malware attack targeting computer systems of banks (Nonghyup, Shinhan and Jeju), television stations and two insurance companies in South Korea, and coming from North Korea. The cyberattack attack damages websites, interrupts banking transactions and wipes computers by deleting data. DarkSeoul affects ATMs, banking-by-smartphone and online banking operations. Attacked television stations were able to keep on broadcasting without interruption. The destroyed websites were flooded with the messages by a group, which calls itself the 'Whois Team'.
