Mac Protector
Mac Protector is a fake anti-spyware program created for the Mac OS operating system and is essentially just a repackaged version of the Mac Security and Mac Defender. Mac Protector is advertised through deceptive websites that have a Windows-oriented design. It's only when you actually download Mac Protector that its Mac-like elements occur. Therefore, Mac Protector is easy to identify as fraudulent security application from the beginning. Once Mac Protector invades your PC system, it conceals itself into the Mac interface and seems to quite real.
Mac Protector circulates through the use of advertisements on websites that simulate to be online scanners. When these false scans are executed, Mac Protector will declare that your PC system is affected by malware threats and then automatically download the Mac Protector onto your machine. Once Mac Protector is downloaded, the installer will launch and force you to install the counterfeit software product.
Once the Mac Protector is installed, it will be configured to start automatically when you boot up your computer. Once running, Mac Protector will imitate to scan your computer and then claim that there are numerous corrupt files on your system. If you try to clean these falsified threats, Mac Protector will state that you must first purchase a license before it will let you to do so. After the false scan, the Control Center screen for Mac Protector will be updated to declare that your computer is injured and is at risk.
