MacEntizer

MacEntizer is a Possibly Unwanted Program (PUP) that is advertised as been capable of controlling the installed software and boost the system of Mac computer users. MacEntizer is delivered via bogus flash player installers, freeware installers, compromised websites, torrent files and corrupted advertisements. Computer users that download and install MacEntizer voluntarily or not will start experiencing unwanted advertisements that will pop up on their screens out of nowhere, a slow and irresponsive machine and unwanted redirections to suspicious websites. PUPs are not considered a threat to the machines they infect. However, a machine infected with MacEntizer may cause its users' browsing to be monitored by third parties, information such as the IP address, geolocation, and sites visited may be leaked besides the unwanted advertisements and redirections.

Although Mac users may be tricked into downloading and installing MacEntizer on their machines, its more common delivery method is by been bundled with other applications and entering the machine without the users' knowledge.
