Threat Database Ransomware lXXwXXXNQ Ransomware

lXXwXXXNQ Ransomware

Computers infected by the lXXwXXXNQ Ransomware threat will be subjected to a data-encryption routine. Nearly all of the files stored on the devices will be locked via a sufficiently strong cryptographic algorithm. The goal of the attackers is to then extort money from their victims, in exchange for the decryption keys necessary to restore the files. The name of the threat is based on the file extension it uses to mark each processed file - '.lXXwXXXNQ.' When all targeted file types have been rendered inaccessible, the malware will create a text file named 'HELP_DECRYPT_YOUR_FILES.txt' on the desktop of the breached device. The file contains a ransom note with instructions for the victims.

Ransom Note’s Overview

The lXXwXXXNQ Ransomw ransom-demanding message states that the cybercriminals demand to receive a payment of $980 exactly. However, they would only accept payments in Bitcoin with the money being transferred to the provided crypto-wallet address. The ransom note also claims that the attackers are willing to decrypt one locked file for free as a demonstration of their ability to restore all of the victim's data. The only way to establish communication with the cybercriminals is to send a message to the email found in the note - 'asuasy365@gmail.com.'
