LookupTrack

By GoldSparrow in Adware, Mac Malware

The LookupTrack application is an adware program that targets Mac computers. Many applications of this type disguise themselves as useful utilities that will enhance one's browsing quality. Regretfully, nothing can be further from the truth. The presence of adware on your computer is likely to decrease your browsing quality significantly, as all the websites you attempt to browse will be riddled with advertisements.

The goal of the LookupTrack adware program is to inject advertisements on every Web page you visit. This will likely distract you from the content of the websites you browse as the advertisements are prone to appear all over the page you are viewing. Adware applications like the LookupTrack tool will likely plant large banners, flashing notifications, annoying alerts, pop-up windows, hyperlinks in articles and text, etc. This may make navigating through a website far more difficult, as some of the advertisements may overlay important sections of the page. The LookupTrack adware program has likely found its way to your computer via a fake download or a freeware bundle. Be careful what software you install on your Mac, so you do not end up installing an adware application or a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program).

If you have installed the LookupTrack utility on your Mac, it is best to remove it. This can be done by using two different methods: manually, or you can use the help of a reputable anti-malware application.
