Llee Ransomware

The Llee Ransomware targets the data of its victims and locks with a military-grade encryption algorithm. Even though the threat is a variant from the STOP/Djvu family, its encryption cannot be bypassed without the necessary decryption keys. As a result, impacted users will no longer be able to open any of their documents, PDFs, photos, images, archives, databases, etc. Whenever it locks a file, the malware also will append '.llee' to that file's original name.

The ransom note of Llee Ransomware will be delivered to the breached devices as a text file named '_readme.txt.' According to the instructions inside the file, victims will be extorted for $980 if they want to receive the decryption keys held by the attackers. However, this initial ransom amount can supposedly be reduced by 50% if the affected users contact the cybercriminals in the first 72 hours following the attack. They can do so by sending a message to the two email addresses found in the note - 'restorealldata@firemail.cc' and 'gorentos@bitmessage.ch,' or a Telegram account at '@datarestore.' As part of their message, the Llee Ransomware's victims can attach one locked file that the hackers promise to decrypt for free.

Keep in mind that negotiating with cybercriminals is strongly discouraged. Users could not only experience monetary losses but put themselves at risk of additional security or privacy issues.
