Threat Database Browser Hijackers 'LiveJasmin' Phishing Virus

'LiveJasmin' Phishing Virus

LiveJasmin is a popular platform for adult content making it a popular target for impersonation used as part of threatening campaigns. Cybercriminals often target specific adult websites that are known to have high visitor traffic. In fact, multiple attack campaigns run by different threat actors can be active at the same time.

The 'LiveJasmin' phishing virus can then be observed as acting in several different ways depending on what version have users landed on. In most cases, users are taken to a phishing page that has been designed to mimic the official LiveJasmin website. Users who are taken to it will be asked to input their account credentials or other information that will then be harvested and sent to the hackers. The compromised data can be used by the criminals to take control over other accounts of the user increasing the security risk significantly.

Another scenario includes misleading emails that pose as official communication messages from LiveJasmin. These emails will most often contain links that will redirect the user to corrupted websites that can even try to download malware threats onto the user's computer. The two most popular malware payloads delivered through such tactics are crypto-miners that can take up all of the hardware resources of the infected system to mine coins for a specific cryptocurrency or ransomware that deploys an encryption algorithm locking all of the files stored on the device and then demanding a ransom for the restoration of the data.

To minimize the chances of having their devices compromised, users should always keep their dedicated anti-malware solution up-to-date while also exercising caution when a website asks for their account or personal information.
