The Lcoupon shopping companion is advertised to offer deals on almost everything you can buy online that is in the categories of clothing, technology, food and drink, drugs and tools. You may find the Lcoupon shopping companion traveling with free program installers or in the company of riskware like Accelimize and Bellaphant. Security experts alert that the Lcoupon program is adware, and you should avoid installing it and programs it may promote. The Lcoupon adware is designed to show coupons, discounts and offers when infected users open their browser and may change your homepage to an e-commerce portal regularly. The Lcoupon adware functions similarly to Optical Surf and Conduit Search and may use JavaScript to redirect your click on bookmarked pages to sponsored websites. Also, the Lcoupon adware may use the ActionScirpt programming language to blacklist ad networks and ensure exposure for content by sponsors. That way, users that are infected with the Lcoupon adware may have access to a limited number of promotional materials and be provided with insecure ads.
The ads by Lcoupon may contain code that may trigger the installation of a potentially harmful program. Security experts reveal that the Lcoupon adware may connect to the Internet via HTTP and place tracking cookies on your PC that can be used to find your approximate geographical location, IP address and behavior on the websites you visit most often. The operators of the Lcoupon adware may use it to direct targeted promotions to your screen and show pop-up windows loaded with surveys. The Lcoupon adware may appear as a browser plug-in the 'Control Panel' and users may not be provided with a functional uninstaller. Adware developers are not known for making it easy for users to remove their apps. Therefore, you need to use a reliable anti-spyware instrument to scan your Windows system and purge the files associated with the Lcoupon adware.
