JS/Blacole.OU is one of the many threat components that belong to the Black Hole Exploit Kit. JS/Blacole.OU is a threatening JavaScript that forces PC users to visit corrupted websites where vulnerabilities on their computers are exploited. JS/Blacole.OU will typically attack a computer when the victim visits a compromised or infected website. Third parties use JS/Blacole.OU to compromise websites, inserting this threatening Java script without alerting the website's administrator. When computer users visit the affected website, JS/Blacole.OU runs automatically, initiating its attack on the victim's computer. There are countless variants of JS/Blacole.OU, most associated with similar exploit Web pages, and all using similar methods of attack. To prevent JS/Blacole.OU attacks, PC security researchers strongly advise computer users to avoid using Java unless necessary, to keep all software fully up-to-date, and to always use a strong security program to protect your computer at all times.
JS/Blacole.OU Looks for Vulnerabilities on Your PC to Install Other Threats
JS/Blacole.OU loads a hidden iFrame which leads the victim's Web browser to a compromised attack website. It is important to note that scripts associated with JS/Blacole.OU will detect the victim's Web browser settings and computer, determining information in order to direct the victim's Web browser to attack websites that exploit the victim's vulnerabilities. Exploit kits and attack websites associated with JS/Blacole.OU may attempt to install other threats on the victim's computer. JS/Blacole.OU and its variants are capable of exploiting dozens, if not hundreds of differently known vulnerabilities.
JS/Blacole.OU's code is obfuscated to make JS/Blacole.OU more difficult to detect. JS/Blacole.OU may be associated with exploit kits that take advantage of vulnerabilities in Java, Adobe software such as the Adobe Reader, and components in Windows and programs such as the Microsoft Office suite.
