The Istreamer application travels incorporated with free software packages under the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' option, and PC users may install it unintentionally. The program entry of Istreamer on the 'Programs and Features' panel of Windows does not have a publisher name and for a good reason. The Istreamer application is perceived as adware and should not be mistaken for the legitimate copy of Istreamer by High Resolution Technologies. The Istreamer adware is named after its legitimate counterpart to avoid the user's suspicion and operate as long as possible on their computer. The Istreamer adware is known to write a registry entry to start with your OS and may increase the startup time of your system. Additionally, the Istreamer adware may place its files in the hidden ProgramData directory, that usually hosts user specific program settings, to evade security scans. The Istreamer adware may use an executable DLL library to alter the way your Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome work and may not appear on your extension manager. The Istreamer adware may use session cookies, read your browsing history and detect your approximate geographical location to facilitate the display of tailor-suited ads. The Istreamer adware can push advertisements in the form of banners, in-text hyperlinks, pop-up and pop-under windows that may invite you to install software like BrowseSmart and CinemaXPro.
