OS(es) Affected: Windows is not a site that users typically visit willingly. After all, it is a deceptive page designed to run a specific browser-based tactic. By employing various social-engineering tactics and misleading messages, the site tries to convince all visitors to subscribe to its push notification services unknowingly. This particular tactic has been propagated via countless websites that have been flooding the Internet for quite a while and it seems that the trend is not losing any steam.

Dubious sites, such as can be recognized easily, as no matter what the shown scenario is, the displayed message will almost always urge users to click the 'Allow' button. Some of the most common variations include:

'Click Allow to verify that you are not a robot'

'Click Allow to watch the video'

'Click Allow to download your file'

'Click Allow to receive your reward

Users who fail to notice the warning signs will find themselves bombarded by annoying advertisements generated by the hoax website. The advertisements could promote suspicious PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) or lead to unsafe places, such as phishing sites, fake giveaways or other online schemes.
