Threat Database Browser Hijackers

Users who land on should be careful. Instead of the promised important news content, the site will show its visitors various deceptive and manipulative messages. Its goal is to trick unsuspecting users into clicking the displayed 'Allow' button under various false pretenses.

The page is just of the countless rogue websites that proliferate this particular tactic. Unbeknownst to the users, clicking the button will subscribe them to the push notification services of that particular page. Afterward, the hoax page can freely proceed to run an annoying and potentially unsafe ad campaign, generating revenue for its creators in the process. 

The messages commonly used by these shady websites are typically a variation of:

'Press Allow to verify that you are not a robot'

'To watch the video, click Allow'

'Click Allow to download the file'

The impact caused by on the user experience on the device will not be easy to disregard. The page will deliver numerous suspicious advertisements that could interrupt the user's browsing or appear on the system even if the affected browser is shut down. 

The advertisements encountered as part of an ad campaign run by unproven sources should always be regarded as risky. They may be promoting intrusive software products, such as adware, browser hijackers or other PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Users who engage with them also may be redirected to phishing pages, fake giveaways, betting platforms, etc.
