ICQ Virus is a security risk, which propagates via the chat application named ICQ. ICQ Virus affects victimized PCs by using a deceptive web-link taking target computer users to a website called 'jokebox' or 'jokeworld'. When the affected computer user clicks on this web-link, the PC gets contaminated with the Trojan, which hijacks the ICQ application and sends the same deceptive message to all contacts of the affected PC user. ICQ Virus can also be used to block legal software on the attacked PC and steal private details such as banking data, login details such as user names and passwords from the target web user. ICQ Virus is spread via ICQ global network, which has a whole network of chats and message boards. In order to take over the affected PC, cybercriminals have produced a deceitful ICQ-message, which invites attacked PC users to visit a particular website, which might appear secure enough. When the web user clicks on the web-link, the PC gets corrupted by ICQ Virus, which starts delivering the same deceitful message via ICQ account to all the target computer user's friends and contacts. ICQ Virus may also data and similar details.
