Hybridspace

Hybridspace is classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) by security experts. Hybridspace belongs to the AdLoad adware family. As such, Hybridspace's main goal is to flood Mac systems with intrusive and unwanted advertisements and change the browser settings to perform actions that will generate monetary gains for its operators. Hybridspace is spread via misleading means, such as corrupted advertisements, fake software updates, pirated software and other methods used to deliver PUPs.

The advertisements displayed by Hybridspace, or any similar PUP, should be handled with care since they may lead to unsafe places. Hybridspace also may deliver pop-up advertisements offering fake or over-priced products and services, and facilitate the installation of additional PUPs, adware, browser hijacker, and eve threats.

Users should avoid keeping PUPs on their machines or devices because one of the features of these programs is to be equipped with data-harvesting capacities. Browsing activities carried on the system, geolocation, IP address and more may be accessed, stored and transmitted to a remote server.
