Gen.Variant.FakeAV is a computer threat that can enter a system without a users knowledge. Gen.Variant.FakeAV can spread via infected internet downloads, spammed e-mails or file-sharing networks. Once inside a machine, Gen.Variant.FakeAV will generate fake security alerts in order to coerce a victim to purchase rogue anti-spyware. Gen.Variant.FakeAV should be automatically removed from a system with a good anti-malware application.
