The Fynweb.com website appears to be another mostly empty rogue website created for the sole purpose of proliferating popular online tactics. Dubious pages such as this one rarely contain any meaningful content. Instead, users who land on them will be typically greeted by several manipulative or clickbait messages. Most often the goal of the site is to trick unsuspecting visitors into subscribing to its push notifications under various pretenses.
The exact scenario shown to users could vary, based on specific factors, such as their IP address and geolocation. Still, one of the most commonly utilized scenarios involves these untrustworthy sites pretending to be running a CAPTCHA check. Users are instructed to click on the displayed 'Allow' button as a way to supposedly gain access to the page. The message may be similar to:
'Click 'Allow' if you are not a robot'
What these hoaxes pages rarely reveal is that pressing the button will, in reality, subscribe the user to the site's push notifications. Indeed, Fynweb.com will now be able to deliver arbitrary and intrusive advertisements to the affected browser and device.
It is extremely rare for the generated advertisements to promote legitimate sites or software products. Instead, users are likely to be presented with advertisements for suspicious websites, fake giveaways, shady adult-oriented platforms and more. Interacting with the advertisements or pressing the 'Allow' button also could trigger redirects to other, equally questionable, destinations.
