By GoldSparrow in Ransomware

The French101 Ransomware, like most encryption ransomware Trojans, is programmed to encode the victims' files and then ask for payment in exchange for the return of the affected files. The French101 Ransomware Trojan is part of the Scarab family of ransomware. This is a large family of ransomware with numerous variants.

The French Enemy of Your Files

The French101 Ransomware searches for the user-generated files on the victim's computer. Then the French101 Ransomware uses AES encryption to make those files completely inaccessible. The files compromised by the French101 Ransomware attack are marked with the file extension '.french101,' which is added to the file's name.
