Fireebok PowerSuite

Mac PowerSuite is advertised as a macOS utility which supposedly helps the user free up disk space, remove junk files, improve the performance of your Mac etc. These claims don’t make PowerSuite unique in any way. There are plenty of similar utilities from a variety of developers. However, not all of them are flagged as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) by a number of security solutions. Additionally, a lot of them are free unlike PowerSuite.

One of the features offered by PowerSuite is “clean up, speed up and revive your Mac computer.” This basically boils down to removing logs and other application associated files. And the user could do the same using the Manage feature of macOS going to About This Mac and then Storage. Another function of PowerSuite is to “optimize your startup items on Mac.” If this is what the user needs they can go to Users & Groups then Login Items and they can manage their startup items in System Preferences. It is important to note that PowerSuite doesn’t seem to be dangerous. But at the same time, potential users should keep in mind that this application doesn’t offer any additional functionality over what a basic macOS and most popular browsers already allow the users to do for free.

PowerSuite is not some dangerous malware threat, and if the user wants to remove it it’s as simple as removing any other application. You can just use Finder, go to Applications find it and drag it to the Trash bin.
