Fill Darker Adware

The Fill Darker Adware may present itself as a seemingly useful browser extension. Whatever features the application may try to put forward, though, will be mostly used as a front to hide its expansive adware functionality. Indeed, the main purpose of the Fill Darker Adware is to monetize its presence on users' devices via an intrusive advertising campaign.

Adware applications typically generate untrustworthy and clickbait advertisements designed to entice users into interacting with them. The advertisements may utilize various social engineering tactics to make themselves appear more urgent or appealing. Unfortunately, most of the advertisements associated with adware applications or other similarly questionable sources are used for the promotion of hoax websites, phishing schemes, shady adult platforms or other suspicious destinations on the Internet. The advertisements also could contain offers to download and install additional PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) masquerading as legitimate applications.

Users also should keep in mind that the vast majority of PUPs also are equipped with data-tracking capabilities. They could be continuously spying on the user's browsing activities and transmitting the data to their operators. Additional information that also could be packaged and exfiltrated, may include device details (IP address, device type, browser type, geolocation, etc.) and even autofill data extracted from the user's Web browsers (account credentials, banking information and payment details).
