Extendedfield

ExtendedField is a browser hijacker and a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) that could enter a macOS without its users' knowledge. The Mac user affected by ExtendedField may see a pop-up message warning about a threatening program present on the computer. Do not be scared, ExtendedField will not cause any harm to the settings of your system and is not unsafe to keep. However, the security of your machine will be diminished by ExtendedField, which will make your macOS unprotected against malware attacks.

ExtendedField was created to go inside a computer by using deceiving methods, such as bundling it with popular freeware, corrupted advertisements, compromised websites, etc. and monitor the activities performed on the affected computer so that it can collect the users' IP address, the ISP provider's name, browsing history, type of browser, geolocation, sites visited, search terms and more.

Then, ExtendedField will transfer all the collected information to its servers and use it to profit by displaying advertisements that can be appealing to the user, selling it to third parties, and performing other shady actions.

Therefore, although not unsafe, it is better to remove ExtendedField from an affected computer at the moment its activities are detected. Trying to remove ExtendedField manually could be tricky since it will require some expertise from the computer user. Therefore the recommended removal method is via a professional anti-malware program. It will keep your MacOS protected against intrusive applications such as ExtendedField.
