Emoxan.xyz is a hoax website that tries to trick all of its visitors into subscribing to its push notification services. To achieve its goal, the site employs various deceptive alerts or error messages under one form or another, all point towards clicking the 'Allow' button. If users click the button, they would grant broad browser permissions to the hoax website unwittingly. Afterward, the site will be able to deliver unwanted advertisements to the device via the affected browser.

It should be noted that the Emoxan.xyz page is not an isolated occurrence. In fact, the opposite is true. There are countless con sites that operate in a virtually indistinguishable manner. This browser-based scheme has enjoyed enduring popularity among unscrupulous people and more pages dedicated to its proliferation are being put on the Internet almost daily. 

The exact scenario displayed by Emoxan.xyz may change but infosec researchers have observed the site to show a video window. Alongside it is a message similar to:

'To access the video, click 'Allow'

Keep in mind that the ads delivered via these scam pages should be treated as being equally as untrustworthy. They could employ the same deceptive methods to get users to click on them. Afterward, the advertisements could lead to various suspicious places including phishing pages, other online tactics, domains promoting PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) and more.
