Emolumentsurvey.top is a deceptive website created to perform several different dubious activities. The page can show questionable content to its visitors, cause unwanted redirects to similarly untrustworthy destinations, and attempt to trick visitors into enabling its push notification services. Typically, users do not open such pages intentionally and are instead taken there due to redirects by rogue advertising networks or PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) lurking on their computer systems and devices.
The main content on the page is a suspicious survey that claims to contain the secret on how to become a millionaire in a single year, by making money on the Internet. Such alluring surveys are a common tactic used in phishing schemes designed to convince users into divulging their account credentials or other sensitive information. In this case, at various points while filling out the survey, Emolumentsurvey.com causes unwanted redirects.
As we said, the page also tries to receive push notification permissions. If users click on the displayed 'Allow' button, they will enable the site to start generating spam notifications and dubious advertisements. Naturally, the advertisements associated with such unproven and unfamiliar sources should not be trusted. The advertisements may promote additional hoax websites or contain offers for seemingly convenient applications that have adware and browser hijacker functionalities hidden inside their programming.
