DoublePulsar is a threatening Trojan that opens a backdoor on the computer it infects. Doublepulsar started appearing on security researchers on April 21, 2017 targeting computers running the Windows operating system. What makes Doublepulsar threatening is that by opening a backdoor on the infected computer, third parties can invade the machine and control its operations remotely. Doublepulsar can put into effect a shellcode from the criminals responsible for the attack, make contact with ports and pre-selected IP addresses, communicate with its controllers by using SMB and RDP protocols, uninstall itself and much more.

To avoid been infected by a threat like Doublepulsar private computer users and network administrators should implant severe security measures on their machines, such as keeping all software updated, not visiting suspicious or unsafe websites, not opening email attachments from unknown sources without checking its origins, keeping an up-to-date anti-malware scanner running 24/7 and paying attention the recommendation of security experts.
