Disturbmachine.xyz is not a trustworthy website. In fact, the exact opposite is true, as the page is used as a platform for running various online schemes. One particular scheme that has been observed by cybersecurity researchers is the popular 'Your PC is infected with viruses.' It should be mentioned that it is unlikely for users to end up on the Disturbmachine.xyz intentionally. In the vast majority of cases, they were taken there either by a previously visited page that relies on rogue advertising networks or because a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) has managed to infiltrate their computes or devices.
Once the Disturbmachine.xyz page appears, it will pretend to be running a security scan. Of course, no website can perform such operations on its own so the entire thing is fake. Furthermore, it will always discover several threats in the system. To add a bit of legitimacy to their otherwise completely false claims, the fraudsters direct users to buy a subscription and install the real anti-malware McAfee product.
Do not be fooled, though; the actual developers and publishers of the application have no connection to this dubious website and its questionable tactics. The most likely goal of the con artists is to earn illegitimate commission fees from all potential sales made through their site.
Keep in mind that Disturbmachine.xyz also may ask users to allow its push notification services. Doing so will grant several important browser permissions to the site. Afterward, it will be able to deliver unwanted and annoying advertisements to the affected users. The advertisements could promote other shady pages or contain offers for intrusive applications, such as adware, browser hijackers and other PUPs.
