Deviceunder-protection(dot)com is a rogue website that uses deceptive and malicious techniques to promote a mobile application. It runs the "Your Chrome Is Severely Damaged By 13 Malware!" scam, which seeks to mislead users into believing their browsers are compromised in order to gain permission to show notifications. Furthermore, the page utilizes rogue advertising networks, which means that users landing on it could be shown dubious or deceptive ads.
Once Deviceunder-protection(dot)com is opened, a pop-up message will appear claiming that Google Security has detected malware on users' Chrome browsers. At the same time, another fake warning will state that the device may also have been impacted by malicious ads. The scam website will strongly urge visitors to take immediate action or risk having sensitive data (social media accounts, messages, images, passwords, and other information) leaked from the device. Deviceunder-protection(dot)com displays the 'Allow error alerts' button and promises that users who click it will be protected from further spam.
Next, Deviceunder-protection(dot)com instructs its visitors to click on the 'Clean my Device' button as a way to remove the supposedly detected threats from their devices. Interacting with the button will result in a pop-up window with two options - 'Allow' and 'Block.' The dubious site implies that clicking on the 'Allow' button will enable error alerts; however, in reality, this action grants the website permission to show notifications. Notifications from untrustworthy sources, such as Deviceunder-protection(dot)com may open shady and even malicious websites. These malicious pages could lead to various phishing sites and technical support scams, as well as promote untrustworthy apps.
