Threat Database Ransomware DecryptDelta Ransomware

DecryptDelta Ransomware

DecryptDelta is a potent ransomware threat that can cause massive damage to the systems it manages to infect. The threat is equipped with a strong encryption routine that uses an uncrackable cryptographic algorithm to lock the victim's file. After that, the threat actors will extort the affected users for money, in exchange for a decryption key and software tool. It should be noted that the DecryptDelta Ransomware appears to be virtually identical to another ransomware threat named Retrievedata.

During the encryption process, the original names of the affected files will have '.decryptdelta@gmailcom' appended to them as a new extension. DecryptDelta will then proceed to drop a ransom note with instructions for its victims. The message is delivered on the compromised devices as a text file named 'retrieve_data.txt.'

Reading the note reveals that the hackers demand to receive the staggering sum of $5,500 that must be transmitted using the Bitcoin cryptocurrency to the provided crypto-wallet address. This is multiple times higher than what other ransomware threats demand from their individual victims. Proof of the payment must be sent to the email address controlled by the attackers - 'ecryptdelta@gmail.com.'
