The Dark It Online is classified as an adware browser extension. Unlike the vast majority of adware applications, this one contains the functionality presented to users. Indeed, the Dark It Online is capable of enabling the Dark Mode for websites that usually do not have such a feature. However, users should also keep in mind the numerous intrusive actions performed by the application while present on their computers.
Adware applications are mostly concerned with monetizing their presence via the delivery of unwanted advertisements. These advertisements could severely impact the user experience on the device. More importantly, they could be promoting untrustworthy scam pages, phishing schemes, platforms spreading additional PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs), or even lead to compromised websites delivering serious malware threats.
PUPs such as the Dark It Online also are commonly observed to spy on the browsing activities performed on the device. The user's search history, browsing history, and clicked URLs could be continuously transmitted to a remote server. The PUP's operators also may gain access to numerous device details or even autofill information extracted from the Web browsers. Typically, this data consists of highly sensitive information, such as payment and banking details, account credentials, debit/credit card numbers, etc.
