CTRLComponents
CTRLComponents is a rogue anti-spyware program which is also known to be a clone of the fake security application Control Components. CTRLComponents and Control Components both correspond to an application that is used by cyber crooks to extort money from unsuspecting computer users. This process is sometimes done through various methods. Some of the methods include the CTRL Components application displaying fake popup warning messages and returning several false positives in the system scan results.
Installation of CTRLComponents may occur without warning or notification by means of a Trojan horse. After this process has taken place, CTRLComponents may load at startup of Windows making it very difficult to manually remove without risk of damaging essential system files. It is best to perform an automatic detection and removal of CTRLComponents with a spyware removal application.
